Autoscopy Project

Image
For this project, I immediately had this idea come to mind. My whole life, I've struggled with anxiety and depression. This does not mean that I am sad all the time, it just means that I have to put in more effort to be happy. Because of this, I try to view every situation positively no matter what, hence the angel side. My demons on the demon side that I struggle with are immense amounts of constant anxiety that never seems to go away and my fight to stay positive and keep seeing the light. I did not make this to have a depressing message, I've struggled with depression and anxiety throughout my life, but that doesn't stop me from being positive and having a happy outlook on life experiences. I focused on dealing with my emotions no matter how anxious I feel, and that is the light side of the image. In order to make the image, I propped my phone up on a glass, and aimed it at my white wall. After this, I stood as still as I possibly could and used my Apple watch to take a

Multiplicity Project

For this project, I knew I needed to find an area where a lot of shadows would be present in order to make it look as realistic as possible, so my girlfriends shiny dinner table with an overhead light fixture was perfect. Since I did not have a tripod, I propped my phone up onto a chair to get the proper height, and I had my girlfriend put her hand in front of the bottom of the phone and stay still while I moved around. I used my Apple watch to take the pictures with a 3 second delay so she would not have to press the phone and move it and mess up the images. I had to do this quick to not mess up the exterior lighting, so I moved chair to chair making it look like I am arguing with myself. When I ran out of space, I stood behind the chairs by the window in order to fit more of myself into the image. Once I cropped out all of the backgrounds and lined every image up, here is the final result:

For this project, I immediately asked my girlfriend for advice since she is more of a movie person than I am and my memory is horrid. We were discussing comedies since we joke around all the time, and she reminded me about the Hangover, and as soon as she said that I knew what I was going to do. I asked her to use make up to make me have a black eye and be covered in lipstick, and she helped me look trashy and washed up. After this, I had to find the perfect picture, have her take a picture of me outside to match the lighting, and combine the images and add filters and additional shadows to certain areas. Here is the final result after all of this:

BW To Color Project

Image
For this project, I used a photo of myself from a photo shoot that me and my girlfriend went to on a farm, and I chose it because of the pattern on my shirt and clarity of the image, so I figured it would be important to use this since it would be helpful in avoiding bleeding of colors. Attached below is the original image as well as the three palettes that I used. I used the specific colors in this way because they looked the most inhumane and were contrasting to my original image.
