Multiplicity Project

 For this project, I knew I needed to find an area where a lot of shadows would be present in order to make it look as realistic as possible, so my girlfriends shiny dinner table with an overhead light fixture was perfect. Since I did not have a tripod, I propped my phone up onto a chair to get the proper height, and I had my girlfriend put her hand in front of the bottom of the phone and stay still while I moved around. I used my Apple watch to take the pictures with a 3 second delay so she would not have to press the phone and move it and mess up the images. I had to do this quick to not mess up the exterior lighting, so I moved chair to chair making it look like I am arguing with myself. When I ran out of space, I stood behind the chairs by the window in order to fit more of myself into the image. Once I cropped out all of the backgrounds and lined every image up, here is the final result:

    I began this project by making a list of the first 5 words that came to my mind in order to describe myself. The words that immediately popped into my head were introverted, passive, quiet, positive, and relaxed. Once I accomplished this step, I went online to find inspiration for designs that I could make myself that would be simple and versatile. Rotoscopy Animation

 For this project, I knew almost immediately what I wanted to do for it. I love music, so I wanted to incorporate that into the project. The more I thought about it, I realized that I could have the background change colors when I put on my headphones, and that it would allow for a transition into the credits. To make this, I recorded myself walking over to my couch, turning on my sound system, and putting on bluetooth headphones and listening to music while bumping my head. Once this was done, I added an all black background and used a 4pt white brush tool for it to contrast. 40 hours later of drawing, I used the bucket tool to add all of the colors for my skin, shirt, socks, shorts, hair, and headphones, and I also added the different color backgrounds once I hit the frame where I put my headphones on and used the 5 disco hex codes to make the colors.   Hello, my name is Ray Silk, and I am a junior from Boston, Massachusetts. My major is advertising / public relations with an advertising creative concentration. My goal in life is to design advertisements and promote for companies on social media, and eventually start my own business.
